PoliciesIt is our policy that the older adult has the freedom of choice and is free from coercion and control. We believe in maximizing opportunities for self-determination in which personal behavior comes from a persons own wishes, choices, preferences, life style and decisions. We are committed to confidentiality: a promise or contract not to reveal any information about a person or situation except under conditions agreed upon by the client. We are committed to ensuring informed consent as to extent of information, client expectation and care manager obligations. It is our policy that the relationship is one of trust and focusing on obtainable and realistic goals. Where possible we believe in autonomous decision making. This presupposes a person who is informed, who has a range of options and choices, who can fully understand information about options and choices, who wishes to be autonomous, and who can form a partnership with a provider to obtain their choices. We follow the code of ethics and standards of practice for both the National Association of Social Workers and the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. We are managed by licensed social workers and a Certified Geriatric Care Manager.
